From the liner notes:
This is the product of my first three months discovering music
composition, often late at night while the rest of the hemisphere
slept. No actual instruments were harmed in the making of this disc —
everything was electronically generated on a laptop computer (named
Daphne). I used open source programs named Rosegarden and Timidity to
enter notes on a staff, assign instruments, and to overlay and arrange
individual parts into a score. This was all done for my own amusement. I wouldn't
have shared these first results so widely if it weren't for the
insistence of my wife. She is to thank, or blame, for the wider
distribution of this disc.
